The £2 Million Mistake I Made…Twice
I have made the exact same mistake twice in my career.
Both times, I built a business from scratch. Both times, it went well; very well. Once the businesses were established, my partners felt they didn’t need me anymore, and I was offered well over a million pounds to walk away.
Both times, I did absolutely nothing.
It wasn’t because the offer was wrong or because I had a better plan. It was simply because I couldn’t bring myself to sit down and actually make the decision. I let myself drift, and while I was drifting, the moment passed.
Here is what I know now that I wish I had known then: not making a decision is itself a decision. In fact, it is almost always the worst one available to you. It costs you money, sleep, time, and immense pressure. It costs you everything.
If you have a decision sitting on your desk right now—unresolved and just lurking—do not make my mistake. It is costing you already. Deal with it today. Not tomorrow.
