Busy directors vs effective directors
23/04/2026
Most directors end the week exhausted but not entirely sure what they actually moved forward. The diary was full, the inbox was busy, and the day disappeared. But busy is not the same as effective, and if you cannot answer yes to two simple questions about every task on your desk, you are probably working hard in the wrong direction.
The questions are straightforward. Does it make money, and is there demand for it? If the answer to both is not yes, it should not be on your desk. Ask them every single day next week and watch what changes. Not just on Friday when the week is already gone, but every morning before you start. That single habit is the difference between a director who drives the business and one who the business drives.
