Your Website is Losing You Thousands
When an underwriter is considering whether to make your business an offer, and at what rate, they may look beyond the numbers on the application.
In many cases, they’ll look at your website and wider online presence too. They’re trying to get a feel for the company behind the application. Does what they see online match what you’ve told them? Does the business look established, current and credible?
For a strong application, your website probably won’t make or break the decision. But on a marginal case, an old, neglected or confusing website can create questions that simply didn’t need to be there.
And there’s another point worth making. A pretty website isn’t necessarily an effective website.
I’ve seen plenty that look fantastic but do absolutely nothing to generate business. Nice photographs, clever design, impressive animation, but no clear reason to choose the company and no obvious next step.
Your website should do more than look good. It should explain what you do, establish trust, answer the questions prospective customers are asking, appear for the right searches on Google and increasingly make it easy for AI tools to understand and recommend your business.
Someone I’d recommend
If you’ve watched my Jumpstart videos or received my emails, you’ve already seen plenty of Liam Atkins’ work.
Liam handles much of the marketing and production behind what you see from me, but his real profession is sales copywriting and marketing. He’s been doing it for around 15 years, and what I particularly like is that he looks at websites commercially.
He isn’t just asking whether something looks nice. He’s asking:
- What is this page trying to achieve?
- Why should somebody choose this company?
- What’s missing?
- Where are potential customers dropping out?
- And is the website actually helping the business make money?
He’s also built businesses himself, so when he talks about generating leads, converting customers and making marketing pay, he’s had his own money on the line too.
A £200 website review, really?
Liam has a little more availability than usual at the moment, so for a limited time he’s offering a full review of your business website for £200.
He’ll properly go through the site and identify practical changes around:
- copy and messaging
- structure and calls to action
- trust and credibility
- customer journey
- traditional SEO opportunities
- AI SEO opportunities, including how clearly your site explains your services, expertise and relevance to tools such as ChatGPT and other AI search platforms
- missing pages, content and obvious gaps that could be costing you enquiries
This isn’t an automated 40-page report. It’s an experienced sales copywriter looking at your website and telling you what he’d change, what he’d prioritise and why.
You can make the changes yourself, hand them to your existing web developer, or speak to Liam about helping with them. There’s no obligation to buy anything else.
And because I’m recommending him, I’ll stand behind it. If you’re genuinely unhappy with the review, you’ll get your £200 back.
If you’d like Liam to take a look, email me directly at mark@ringroseandco.co.uk and I’ll pass over his details and connect you.
I use Liam myself, I’m happy to put my name behind his work, and I think £200 to find out whether your website is helping or quietly holding your business back is very good value.
If you need someone on your side, I’m Mark Smillie.
